National Success - Norse sees off Blue Chip rivals to grab top spot at the BITC Awards
July 2010

Following on from our success in the 2010 East of England Business in the Community Awards, with awards in three categories, on Tuesday night at the Albert Hall Norse Commercial Services went head to head with 2 other national companies to win the award of overall best in the country. Norse Commercial Services was named the Example of Excellence in both the Employability Award and the Skills in the Workplace Award.
Achieving this success against such well known organisations as Marks & Spencer & Scottish Power is something of which we should all be immensely proud.
Jane James, Employment Regeneration Director, MITIE Group PLC, and Chair of the judging panel for the Employability Award said: “Norse Commercial Services illustrates its commitment to the employability agenda by investing considerable time and resource in their activities. The most significant output of this investment is a robust and sustainable approach to supporting people into work and keeping them there.”
Chair of the judging panel for the Skills in the Workplace Award, supported by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills in association with Asset Skills said: “Other employers will be inspired to develop similar initiatives by what NCS has achieved across a traditionally dispersed and low-skilled workforce. By totally integrating a culture of learning across the organisation, it has embedded skills development and progression in the heart of the business, reaching beyond the existing workforce to the wider community and future employees”.
Run in association with the Financial Times, the awards recognise and celebrate those companies who have shown leadership and innovation, creativity and a sustained commitment to corporate responsibility.
This is hot off the press so more details will follow. |
