Special schools transport contract for Norse

Norse was been awarded a number of contacts to convey students with special needs and challenging behaviours to special schools in the Norwich area.
 
The students vary from ambulant, to wheelchair users and will be transported in vehicles from Norse’s fleet of minbuses, many of which are  wheelchair accessible.
 
The contracts, which range from 3 – 5 years cover 15 routes and are worth approaching  £300,000 over the life of the contracts.
 
In common with all routes of this type, in addition to the driver each route has a Passenger Assistant to ensure all needs of students are met during the journey to and from school.
 
Passenger Assistants and Drivers on these contracts will undertake the Emergency Aid training given as standard to this group of staff. Passenger Assistants will also undertake the Passenger Assistant Training Scheme (PATS), a course enabling Passenger Assistants to acquire the essential skills required for this role.
