Norse backs new Wellbeing Exchange for Norfolk employers

Norse Commercial Services is backing the Norfolk Health and Wellbeing Exchange, an initiative that brings together Norfolk employers to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees.
The free service was set up to enable employers across the county to share, swap and club together around practical interventions and resources related to workplace health and wellbeing.
Norse has installed an Interactive Health Kiosk at its Fifers Lane head offices and, as part of the initiative, is offering the facility via the website www.wellbeingexchange.org to other employers in the last week of January.
The kiosk measures blood pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI), heart rate, hydration quota, weight and Body Fat Content (BFC).
“We’ve already set up an internal project with school and healthcare cooks in our catering division to promote health in the workplace,” says Norse Health and Safety Officer, Oliver Syrett. “We are using pedometers to carrying out a ‘step count’ over a 12 week period. Once the data is collated we are challenging other areas of the business, that may be less active in their roles, to try and beat the steps of the cooks in our company. The kiosk is to promote interest in health for the new year and get people thinking about themselves,” he added.
“Health is essential to both work and social wellbeing and Norse has always encouraged staff in their maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle, commented Human Resources Director Tricia Fuller. “We fully support the Wellbeing Exchange and will welcome other employers who would like to make use of our new Interactive Kiosk.”
The Norfolk Health and Wellbeing Exchange is also supported by Business in the Community, Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, City College Norwich and NHS Norfolk.
