Housing Association extends contracts with Norse
November 2010

Wherry Housing Association has increased the range of services it contracts from Norse Commercial Services with new agreements worth over £1/3 million a year.
The Association, which manages in excess of 6,500 houses across Norfolk Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, has re-awarded Norse the Grounds Maintenance contract and extended it to cover all Wherry Housing’s communal areas, taking the total number of sites the facilities management company services to around 300.
Norse has also been awarded the contract for cleaning communal internal areas in Wherry’s blocks and sheltered schemes.
“We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Wherry,” commented Norse Commercial Director Peter Negri, “and to have extended our involvement and range of services into their Suffolk and Cambridgeshire sites.”
Mehmet Yaman, Neighbourhood Projects Officer at Wherry, said, “Through the procurement selection process Norse was selected as the preferred contractor from a shortlist of other strong tenders. Norse showed an understanding of the high quality service standards expected by Wherry residents, together with a financially competitive bid.”
The Grounds division contract is worth £231k a year and the Cleaning contract is valued at £123k per year. Both contracts are for an initial 3 years with an optional 2 year extension.
